GROWERS/CRAFT MARKET SEEMS POPULAR

It seems to us that the idea of holding a farmers and arts/craft markets at the site is emerging as the popular one with Knaphill residents. It could well enable the site to be financially self-supporting, and would also enable other community based activities such as Art classes/shows and music/dancing etc. by local groups to take place during the summer months......

Watch out for an article re: Simon campaign in the local press later this week. Simon and myself met for the first time on Tuesday 01 07 08 and discussed the implications of what would be needed to develop the old library site in line with some of the suggestions mentioned above. We also had an impromptu meeting with a local property agent who offered some great advice which I am sure will aid Simon's campaign. I sincerely hope that Diana Smith's influence regarding the old library has the desired affect on her colleagues at Surrey County Council as it now seems the idea of preserving the site for the benefit of Knaphill Residents and its visitors has her full support. One word of caution though : It will be interesting to see how SCC respond to both the impending article in the Woking News & Mail/Review and Simon's campaign in general - particularly as there are vicious and unfounded rumours going around that the site has already been sold.
